Doula Services

As someone who has been working in people-centred jobs and support roles for the last 5 years, I know how important it is to feel heard and securely held. I love to go above and beyond in my role!

Birth Support Package

The support can be tailored to what you need. There is room for flexibility in my packages they just provide an idea of how I work.

  • These sessions are around 2 hours long. They are a chance to create a birth ‘plan’ or preferences, as well as discussing:

    • Hospital bags or home birth preparation.

    • Labour signs.

    • Birth progression.

    • Baby positioning.

    • Pregnancy nutrition.

    • Relaxation techniques and coping strategies.

    • Baby feeding, sleep and babywearing.

    • Local resources.

    • Tools for self-advocacy.

    • Birth rights.

    • Postpartum recovery.

We can reflect on emotions that arise around the transition of having a new baby.

Most importantly, these sessions are an opportunity for me to shape my role around you and your birth partner, and ascertain how we can make the best team for your birth.

  • Doula support will be available by phone from the day we meet to 6 weeks after your baby is born. Phone calls and messaging will act as an extension to our antenatal sessions and a comforting space for any questions or worries.

  • I will be available to attend appointments with you and debrief with a cuppa afterwards. I will make notes if helpful and experience these moments alongside you.

  • I will be there for you during labour from whenever you feel you need me to a few hours after the birth when you are settled as a family. If you unexpectedly go into labour before 38 weeks I will try my very best to be available or endeavour to organise another lovely doula to attend.

  • I will hold space, which means I will be an empathetic and non-judgemental presence, free of my own agenda. I will help to safeguard your birth preferences and contribute to an oxytocin-rich environment.

I will confidently and sensitively meet you where you are at emotionally: responding to your choices and body language. I will know when to step back and when to step in.

I will breathe with you, provide you with reassuring touch when you would like. My doula bag is well stocked with comfort measures and refreshments.

I will help to protect the calm and quiet of the ‘golden hour’, supporting this time of bonding with your baby.

  • I will listen to your birth story, helping you to work through it in ways that feel comfortable for you - whether that is using journal prompts or talking whilst engaging in creative or therapeutic activity. I will help you feel settled into your family life by discussing infant sleep and feeding.

Postnatal Support Packages

  • Women and birthing people need time to rest and recover after birth.

New parents need care just as much as a new baby and support can have a huge positive effect on postpartum recovery and mental health.

  • My role is to get stuck in with whatever you need.

You might find it helpful for me to do some household chores while babywearing your newborn to give you a chance to have a walk or a nap — or you might prefer for me to focus on something completely different!

  • Postnatal care responds to the ever-changing nature of the fourth trimester.

Day to day, this care may include:

    - Reflecting emotionally on the birth through talking and therapeutic art activities.

    - Breastfeeding and chestfeeding support.

    - Information about normal infant sleep and feeding to help support confidence.

    - Me turning up with freshly baked goods!

  • Emotional support for the whole family.

    - A partner’s chance to debrief and tell their story.

    - Sibling care support — I have a vast range of professional experience working with children as a nanny, proxy parent and in nursery settings.

    - Speaking to siblings about feelings that arise around the new baby, using resources such as storytelling and art making.

  • Fees

Full package of support: 2-hour sessions twice a week for 6 weeks postpartum. 24 postnatal hours at £540.

Other support packages: 12 postnatal hours at £300. 6 postnatal hours at £165. Ad hoc hours at £45/ hour.

Night support: Starting from £300 a night, usually booked in blocks of 8 or 10 hours.

  • Helping you have a good night’s rest.

My experience caring for babies in early years settings and overnight nannying has made me a confident and holistic practitioner around infant sleep. My night doula support is designed to give you some valuable rest while still working with your preferred choice of feeding. As a postnatal night doula I also provide emotional support and light household tasks to help you feel prepared for the morning.

Book in an initial call

I offer a free call, which is an opportunity for you to ask me questions about the way I work, tell me more about the kind of support you are looking for and get a feeling for whether we might be a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!
